About the Trust

A Registered Charitable Trust with One Mission: a Nasha-Mukt Himachal

Eshan Charitable Trust was founded by Managing Trustee Eshan Pathania with a simple conviction: no family in Himachal should lose a son, a brother or a husband to chitta, alcohol or drugs for want of serious, dignified treatment close to home. The Trust is registered in Delhi (Regd. No. 2025/19/IV/123, Book No. IV, Volume No. 4067, Office of the Sub-Registrar-I, Kashmere Gate) and operates this de-addiction centre in Himachal Pradesh as a government registered mental health establishment.

Our centre in Kangra is a male-only residential facility for men aged 18 and above. We chose Kangra deliberately. Recovery is harder in the same streets, the same circles and the same pressures where addiction began. Here, in clean mountain air near the Dhauladhar range, away from dealers, drinking circles and daily triggers, men get the distance and the structure they need to rebuild.

As a charitable trust, we exist for recovery, not profit. Evidence-based treatment, medically supervised detox, psychiatric and psychological care, family counselling and long-term relapse prevention, delivered with respect and complete confidentiality.

About the Founder

Eshan Pathania

Founder & Managing Trustee, Eshan Charitable Trust

Eshan Pathania established Eshan Charitable Trust with a single, personal conviction: the men of Himachal deserve serious, dignified addiction treatment, and their families deserve honest answers. As someone who is himself 5 years in recovery, he understands the journey firsthand. Having watched the chitta wave move from the plains into the hills and touch households across Kangra, he chose to respond not with sympathy but with an institution.

Under his leadership, the Trust registered as a mental health establishment with the HP State Mental Health Authority and built a residential centre at Tanda Kholi around a simple philosophy: medical care first, discipline daily, family always. He remains personally involved in the day-to-day running of the centre and in the larger mission of a nasha-mukt Himachal.

What We Treat

Evidence-Based Treatment for Every Major Addiction in Himachal

Chitta addiction treatment in Himachal Pradesh counselling session at our nasha mukti kendra

Chitta (Heroin) Addiction Treatment

Chitta, the adulterated heroin flooding Himachal and Punjab, is the most urgent epidemic we face. It hooks fast, destroys health faster, and families often discover it late: money going missing, sudden weight loss, pinpoint pupils, long absences, new friends, foil or syringes hidden away. If you are seeing these signs of chitta addiction in a son or family member, act now.

As a dedicated chitta nasha mukti kendra, we begin with medically supervised detox to manage withdrawal safely, followed by psychiatric evaluation, one-to-one counselling, group therapy and a structured relapse prevention plan. Our heroin (chitta) de-addiction centre also treats smack and brown sugar addiction with the same protocol.

Alcohol De-Addiction & Medically Supervised Detox

Alcohol remains the most widespread addiction in the hills, and one of the most dangerous to quit alone. Sudden withdrawal after years of heavy drinking can cause seizures, hallucinations and delirium tremens, which is why "cold turkey at home" so often fails or turns dangerous.

At our alcohol addiction treatment centre, detox happens under medical supervision, with round-the-clock nursing, appropriate medication and monitoring. Once the body is stable, the real work begins: therapy, the 12-step program, family counselling and rebuilding a daily life that does not revolve around drinking.

Ganja charas cannabis addiction treatment at de-addiction centre in Himachal Pradesh

Cannabis (Charas / Ganja) Addiction Treatment

Because charas is grown in Himachal's own Kullu belt and ganja is cheap and everywhere, many families dismiss cannabis as harmless. We see the other side: young men whose motivation, memory, studies and work have quietly collapsed, and for whom cannabis has become the gateway to harder substances.

Our ganja / charas / cannabis addiction treatment focuses on breaking the psychological dependency: cognitive behavioural therapy, routine, fitness, and honest work on why the habit started. For men using cannabis alongside alcohol or chitta, we treat the full picture, not just one substance.

Medical and prescription drug addiction treatment tramadol alprazolam at rehab centre in Kangra

Opioid & Prescription Drug Addiction (Tramadol, Codeine, Alprazolam)

Medical and prescription drug addiction hides in plain sight: tramadol strips from the chemist, codeine cough syrup by the bottle, alprazolam to sleep, then to function. Because the substances are "medicines", families notice only when the dependence is severe.

We provide structured tapering and medically supervised detox for opioid and benzodiazepine dependence, with psychiatric oversight throughout. Stopping benzodiazepines abruptly can be life-threatening, so this is treatment that genuinely requires a registered medical facility, not willpower alone.

Injectable drug use recovery program at drug rehabilitation centre in Himachal

Injectable Drug Use & Polysubstance Abuse

Injecting chitta or pharmaceutical opioids carries the highest risks of all: overdose, abscesses, hepatitis and HIV. Many men who reach us are also mixing substances, alcohol plus chitta, tablets plus ganja, which makes home management impossible and professional care essential.

Our injectable drug use recovery program combines safe medical detox, screening and referral for infections, harm education, and the same long-term psychological treatment and relapse prevention that anchors every program at our drug rehabilitation centre in Himachal.

The 180-Day Journey

Our 180-Day Residential De-Addiction
Program

Recovery is not an event, it is a process. Our structured 180-day residential de-addiction program takes a man from crisis to stability to a plan for the rest of his life.

Admission & Assessment

Every journey begins with a confidential medical and psychiatric assessment. We understand the substance history, physical health, mental health and family situation, and design an individual treatment plan. Families asking how to admit someone in a nasha mukti kendra start with one phone call to us.

Medically Supervised Detox

Withdrawal from chitta, alcohol or tablets is managed with appropriate medication, monitoring and 24x7 nursing care so it is as safe and as comfortable as possible. This is where a registered medical facility matters most.

Psychiatric & Psychological Therapy

Addiction almost always travels with depression, anxiety, trauma or sleep problems. Our consultant psychiatrist and clinical psychologist treat the whole person through one-to-one sessions and evidence-based therapies like CBT.

12-Step Program & Group Therapy

Daily group sessions built on the 12-step program used by recovery communities worldwide. Men learn from each other, hold each other accountable, and discover they are not alone in this fight.

Yoga, Meditation & Fitness

Mornings begin with yoga and meditation on the lawn, with the Dhauladhar in view. Physical training, sports and proper nutrition rebuild the body that addiction has run down.

Family Counselling

Addiction wounds the whole family. Our family counselling for drug addiction helps parents, wives and siblings understand the disease, rebuild trust, and learn how to support recovery without enabling relapse.

Relapse Prevention

Before discharge, every man builds a written relapse prevention plan: his triggers, his warning signs, his emergency contacts and his daily structure. Our relapse prevention program is the bridge between the centre and real life in Himachal.

Aftercare & Follow-Up

Discharge is not goodbye. We stay in touch through scheduled follow-up calls and reviews, support families through the first fragile months, and keep our helpline open to every man who has stayed with us.

Voices of Recovery

Men Who Walked Out of Here With Their Lives Back

Shared with permission. Every man below completed the residential program at Tanda Kholi.

Dinkar, recovered resident of Eshan Charitable Trust de-addiction and rehabilitation centre Kangra

“I had given up on myself long before I came here. Nobody shouted, nobody locked me up. They treated me like a man worth saving, and 180 days later I walked out with my life back.”

Dinkar
Farhan, recovered resident of Eshan Charitable Trust rehabilitation centre Himachal Pradesh

“What happens here is real medical care, not punishment, and that is the whole difference. The counselling made me look at things I had run from for years. I left with a plan I still follow every morning.”

Farhan
Ayush, recovered resident of Eshan Charitable Trust nasha mukti kendra Kangra

“The routine, the yoga at six, the group meetings, the staff who never gave up on me. Piece by piece this place rebuilt me. My family has me back, and that is worth more than I can write here.”

Ayush
Recovered resident

“I came here because my family had lost hope in me, and honestly, I had lost hope in myself too. The first few weeks were hard, but the staff never gave up on me. Slowly I started believing that I could live without alcohol and drugs. Three months later, I left stronger, healthier, and ready to start again. Recovery gave me my future back”

Call a Counsellor

The best nasha mukti kendra in Himachal Pradesh is one that is government registered, medically supervised and residential, not a lock-up masquerading as treatment. Eshan Charitable Trust's centre in Kangra is registered with the HP State Mental Health Authority (Sr. No. 193) under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, offers a calm residential facility with psychiatric care, and runs a structured 180-day evidence-based program. We encourage families to visit, verify registration and meet the team before choosing any centre.

Start with one phone call to our 24x7 helpline. Our counsellor will understand the situation, guide you on how to talk to your family member, and schedule an assessment. Admission to our rehabilitation centre in Kangra can usually happen the same day or the next, any day of the week. Bring any medical records if available, and we handle the rest, including transport guidance for families coming from other districts and states.

Chitta is adulterated heroin, usually smoked on foil or injected, that has spread rapidly across Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. It causes intense dependence within weeks, and withdrawal is severe enough that most users cannot stop on their own. Chitta addiction treatment in Himachal Pradesh at our centre begins with medically supervised detox to manage withdrawal safely, followed by psychiatric care, counselling, the 12-step program and a personal relapse prevention plan over a 180-day residential stay.

Our core offering is a 180-day residential de-addiction program, which research and our experience show gives far better outcomes than short 15 or 30 day stays. The first weeks stabilise the body through detox, the middle phase builds psychological recovery, and the final phase focuses on relapse prevention and family preparation. Duration can be adjusted after assessment based on the substance, severity and the individual's progress.

Yes. We hold Provisional Registration Sr. No. 193 issued by the HP State Mental Health Authority, Shimla, under Sections 66(4) and 66(11) of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017, dated 14/05/2026. The centre is run by Eshan Charitable Trust, a registered charitable trust (Regd. No. 2025/19/IV/123, Delhi). Families are welcome to see the registration documents at the centre, and we would advise you to demand the same from any rehab you consider.

Yes, a large share of our residents come from outside Himachal. We regularly admit men from the Chandigarh tricity (Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur), from Punjab towns near Pathankot, from Jammu & Kashmir and from Delhi NCR. Treatment away from the home city is often exactly what makes recovery stick, and Kangra is well connected by highway, rail and Gaggal airport.

Completely. Confidentiality is both our ethical duty and a legal obligation for a registered mental health establishment. We do not share resident information with employers, neighbours or anyone outside the treatment process, and visits and calls are managed as part of the therapy plan. Many professionals and students complete treatment with us without anyone in their circle knowing.

Structure is medicine. A typical day begins with early wake-up, yoga and meditation on the lawn, followed by breakfast, group therapy and individual counselling sessions. Afternoons include rest, reading, skill activities and fitness, evenings bring sports, a 12-step meeting and reflection, with fixed meal and sleep times throughout. This rhythm rebuilds the discipline that addiction destroys.

Yes, medically supervised alcohol detox is one of our core services. Alcohol withdrawal can be medically dangerous, with risks of seizures and delirium tremens, so it should never be attempted alone at home after heavy long-term drinking. At our centre, detox is managed with appropriate medication, monitoring of vitals and 24x7 nursing care under the oversight of our consultant psychiatrist.

Every man leaves with a written relapse prevention plan covering his triggers, warning signs, daily structure and emergency contacts. Our aftercare includes scheduled follow-up calls, review check-ins and continued family guidance through the first months back home. The helpline remains open to former residents and their families indefinitely, because recovery is a long road and we walk it with you.

Yes, we are a male-only residential facility and admit men aged 18 and above. A single-gender environment removes distractions, allows more honest group work and lets men speak openly about experiences they would never share in mixed settings. There is no upper age limit; we assess each case individually, from college students caught in chitta to older men with decades of alcohol dependence.

Costs vary with the length of stay and the level of medical care needed during detox, so we do not publish a single figure. As a charitable trust, our pricing is affordable and fully transparent: one inclusive fee, explained clearly before admission, with no hidden charges added later. Call our 24x7 helpline and we will give you the exact details for your situation in one honest conversation.

Areas We Serve

Why Families from Chandigarh, Punjab, Jammu & All of Himachal Choose Kangra

There is a reason so many families searching for the best nasha mukti kendra in Dharamshala, a rehabilitation centre near Palampur, or a trusted nasha mukti kendra in Kullu end up calling us in Kangra: distance heals. Recovery specialists agree that treatment away from the patient's home city, away from the dealer's number saved in his phone, the theka on his route home and the friends he used with, dramatically improves the odds. Our centre sits in the quiet of Village Tanda Kholi, wrapped in pine and mountain air, close enough for families to visit and far enough for old habits to lose gripping power.

One phone call can change everything.
